We proudly support various charities initiatives as a part of our social responsibility. Through the sales of items in our vending and coffee machines we give the option to our clients to donate part of their commission to the charities that we work with. Ronald McDonald House Charities was born out of the unlikely partnership of Dr. Audrey Evans, an oncologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, McDonald’s, and the American Football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Initially, their collaboration aimed to support families with seriously ill children. Moreover, this partnership enabled them to raise crucial funds for medical needs. As a result, they established the first Ronald McDonald House in 1974, creating a supportive environment for families. Ultimately, their ongoing efforts continue to make a positive impact on communities across the globe.

Fred Hill, a player for the Philadelphia Eagles, had a daughter suffering from leukemia, which prompted the team to raise in excess of $100,000 dollars to support the hospital. This was met with much gratitude from Dr Evans and her team but also with a request for another $32,000 to fund a house in which the families of the children in the hospital could get proper rest, away from the ward.

The Birth of Ronald McDonald House Charities

In turn this request was met by Ed Rensi, an area manager for McDonald’s. The company was using the Eagles’ players as part of an advertising campaign and offered to donate the proceeds from their ‘shamrock shake’ to the cause. In return Ed asked that the house be known as the Ronald McDonald House. So it was that on 15 October 1974, the first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors. In the intervening years Ronald McDonald House Charities has spread across the world, forming new and independent branches in over 62 regions and countries.

From the moment they opened their first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, PA, the entire McDonald’s system—including owner/operators, suppliers, employees, and customers—has consistently helped support families with sick children. As a result, they provide stability and vital resources during challenging times. Furthermore, this collective effort fosters a nurturing environment for those in need. Ultimately, their commitment makes a significant impact on the lives of many families facing hardships. Consequently, they create a sense of community and support that is invaluable.

RMHC IRELAND
The mission of RMHC, Ireland, is to provide a Ronald McDonald House in order to support families whose children are seriously ill in hospital. The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and creates a caring, supportive environment for families. It serves families with children who are seriously ill and hospitalized. Additionally, this facility keeps families close to their loved ones during challenging times. As a result, they gain access to vital support and resources. Ultimately, the Ronald McDonald House plays a crucial role in helping families navigate their difficult journeys together.
