Comparing Vending Stock Case Prices: Work Out the Cost per Pack

Spread the love

A cheaper case can contain fewer products or smaller packs. Before changing a vending supplier order, compare the cost of the individual item you can actually sell. Keep the calculation transparent enough for another colleague to check.

Identify the same product specification

Record brand, variant, individual pack size and units per case. Confirm whether the offer covers a single case or a minimum order. Do not compare a 40g bar with a 60g bar as if they were identical. If a change in size is intentional, evaluate it as a product-range decision as well as a purchasing comparison.

Calculate the unit figure

Divide the comparable case cost by the number of usable individual packs. For illustration, a hypothetical case costing €18 with 24 packs works out at €0.75 per pack. A €16 case containing 20 packs works out at €0.80. These are arithmetic examples, not current supplier prices or recommended selling prices. Check the actual invoice and quantity.

Keep the cost basis consistent

Use the same treatment of delivery charges, discounts and tax across the comparison, taking advice from your accountant where needed. Record any assumptions rather than hiding them in a formula. Payment-provider fees are a separate cost from the stock purchase; provider statements such as Nayax’s reimbursement statement can help identify them when reviewing wider operating costs.

Check whether the saving is usable

Review shelf life, pack compatibility, storage space and realistic demand before ordering a larger case. A low unit price is not helpful if stock becomes unsuitable or cannot dispense reliably. Record why the chosen offer meets the site’s needs and revisit the calculation when the supplier changes case size or terms. Keep this comparison separate from a claim about final profit.
