Cashless-Only Vending: Check Who Can Use It at Your Site
A cashless-only vending machine can suit a site, but a card reader alone does not establish that everyone can use the service. Review the people, payment methods and support arrangements before removing cash as an option. This is a site-planning checklist, not a prediction of higher sales.

Identify the people who will buy
Consider staff, visitors, contractors and people using the building outside normal reception hours. Ask whether they have access to the proposed payment methods when they need refreshments. Do not infer this from the preferences of the person choosing the machine.
Gather practical feedback without asking for financial or card details. If an important group would be excluded, discuss another payment arrangement or an alternative way to obtain refreshments with the site and operator.
Confirm the enabled payment methods
Nayax describes support for cards and mobile-wallet payments, but the exact methods available at a site depend on its equipment and setup. Ask the supplier to list what will be enabled for the proposed installation.
Do not place a payment logo on the machine until the operator confirms that method is supported and working. Check whether a visitor needs an app or account, and make any extra step clear before the person selects a product.
Test the customer journey
Nayax’s Onyx setup guidance recommends testing each payment method before opening the service to customers. Apply the appropriate commissioning procedure for your actual reader and machine.
Check the instructions, selection sequence, displayed price and successful delivery. Test at the installed location, and agree who monitors connectivity and handles faults. A successful demonstration elsewhere does not confirm the finished site setup.
Agree the interruption and support plan
Document what staff should do when payment is unavailable and how customers can report a problem. Keep the machine’s official support contact readable and current. Avoid repeated test charges by untrained staff.
Review the arrangement after launch using actual questions and failed journeys, not sales totals alone. Payment convenience should be assessed alongside whether the intended users can complete a purchase.
