Buying a Used Vending Machine: Check the Card Reader Account Transfer
A used vending machine can include a fitted card reader without being ready to take payments for its new owner. Treat the physical equipment sale and the payment-account transfer as separate checks before agreeing a collection or launch date.

List the equipment being sold
Record the cabinet model and serial number, reader model and identifier, and any separate communications equipment. Ask which items are included in the price and which belong to another provider. Keep photographs of the relevant labels with the sale paperwork. A demonstration that the machine accepts payments does not show whose account receives the money.
Use the correct regional process
Nayax publishes a device-transfer guide explicitly limited to the United States and Canada, directing other regions to support. An Irish buyer should obtain the correct regional instructions rather than copying that form or assuming its timelines apply. Ask the provider whether this specific reader is transferable, supported and suitable for your proposed account before paying for the package.
Agree responsibilities in advance
Write down what the seller must do, what the buyer must submit and what confirmation will count as completion. Ask about unresolved account issues, service arrangements and any equipment changes that might be necessary. Avoid sharing passwords between businesses. Access to an old dashboard should not be treated as a substitute for a properly confirmed account transfer.
Test ownership as well as vending
After the provider confirms the change, arrange a supervised test. Check the machine identifier, product price, transaction record and the account receiving the payment according to the provider’s process. Keep the test details and support reference. If a transfer is still pending, describe the machine as awaiting payment setup rather than advertising it as ready for cashless operation.
