Same Snack, Different Pack Size: Recheck the Vending Setup

Spread the love

A supplier’s replacement snack may have the same brand and flavour but a different weight or wrapper shape. Treat the change as a new stock variant until the operator confirms it works with the machine and its records. A familiar logo is not enough.

Compare the actual packs

Put the old and new sealed products beside each other. Record the declared weight, dimensions, barcode and any changed ingredients or storage instructions. Keep a photograph or sample for the person configuring the machine. If a supplier calls the product equivalent, ask equivalent in what sense: flavour, price and physical fit are different questions.

Arrange a dispensing check

Have the operator assess the new pack in the intended selection and test it using the manufacturer’s procedure. Do not force a larger packet into a space designed for the old one or alter mechanisms yourself. A pack that looks similar through the glass can behave differently when dispensed. Confirm that customers can collect it without damage.

Change the customer-facing information

Review the product name, declared size and selling price wherever they are shown. Avoid leaving an image of the old larger pack beside the replacement. Nayax’s product-management guidance treats product variants and machine mapping as part of accurate records. Update the applicable product record through your operator so subsequent sales and refill quantities refer to the correct item.

Keep old and new stock distinct

Plan whether the remaining old packs will sell through first or use a separately identified selection. Do not silently mix different sizes behind one misleading description. Mark the change date in the stock record, then check early feedback and sales for that specific variant. If the new size disappoints customers, you will have a clear starting point for comparison.
